Abandoned Home in Dubois Destroyed Following Weekend Fire

From Fire Dept. Sources

DUBOIS -- A weekend fire destroyed an abandoned home in Dubois.

The owner of a neighboring property saw the flames just after 11 Saturday night and called 911.

It’s located at 3rd and Sycamore Streets in the town of Dubois.

Upon arrival, fire crews reported the southwest corner of the home was fully engulfed in flames.

It was spreading to the rest of the structure as firefighters were able to get the fire under control.

The home was deemed unsafe due to hotspots and torn down.

The home is owned by Kristy Ranck of Texas but, again, it was abandoned at the time of the fire.

18 volunteer firefighters from Dubois responded with 3 trucks in all.  They were assisted by state police, and the county sheriff’s department and EMS.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
