260 White Stallion Energy Employees Out of Work After Company Files for Bankruptcy

EVANSVILLE – A southern Indiana energy company has filed for bankruptcy and laid off nearly 300 employees.

Evansville-based White Stallion Energy, LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this week and laid off all 260 employees.

The company owns four coal mines in southwest Indiana and two in southeast Illinois. The Indiana mines are listed as Antioch, Billings, Charger, and Shamrock.

WEHT-TV reports the company plans to rehire 24 workers to help it through bankruptcy.
