Tretter Nets 22 Points, Lady Rangers Earn Tenth Win

Ferdinand - The Forest Park Lady Rangers earned their tenth win of the 2021-2022 season as Junior Amber Tretter led all scorers with 22 points.

The Rangers played host to rival Heritage Hills on Thursday, coming away with a 45-28 victory. For the second straight game in the now seven-game win streak, Forest Park never trailed and only faced one tie.

In another strong defensive effort the Lady Rangers held the Patriots to single-digit point totals in each of the four quarters, while forcing 15 turnovers. The Rangers also controlled the boards, outrebounding the Patriots, 31-21. Forest Park collected 11 offensive rebounds.

Junior Forward Amber Tretter led the way in the scoring column with 16 from the floor and going 6/9 from the free throw line. Forest Park earned 13 more attempts from the foul line than Heritage Hills. Tretter added 11 boards and four blocks.

Lydia Betz was the game's only other double-digit scorer on the night with 10. Ali Welp ended the contest with 8, Danielle Eckert added two, with one apiece for both Gabey Gray and Carley Begle.

Kentucky Wesleyan signee Hadley Lytton and Ella Schieders paced the Patriots with seven points each.

The Forest Park Lady Rangers improve to 10-1 on the season and 5-1 in the Pocket Athletic Conference. The Rangers stand alone in third place in conference play, trailing only Washington (2-0) and Gibson Southern (3-0).


Ranking: Forest Park is currently ranked #6 in 2A girls basketball.

Next Week: The Rangers face two PAC opponents. Forest Park travels to Boonville for an 8:00 p.m. tip-off on Tuesday and will return home Thursday for a battle with Washington at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be broadcasted live on WQKZ 98.5 FM and WQKZfm.com.
