Sixth Inning Charge Leads Bombers Over Jockeys

Huntingburg - A late game charge broke a tie ballgame and fueled the Dubois County Bombers 6-1 win over the Louisville Jockeys on Tuesdsay night.

The game-time temperatures were hot; the bats were cold through the first five innings.

The Dubois County Bombers (8-8) got on the board with a Kasten Harvey sacrifice fly, scoring lead-off man Camden Gasser in the bottom of the first. Gasser, reaching on a walk would then steal second base to put him in scoring position. 

The Bombers would remain hitless until the fourth inning.

Louisville mirrored the Bombers' output in the top of the fifth as Jack Purdue recorded an RBI groundout, scoring Joey Humphrey who, like Gasser, reached on a walk.

Dubois County picked up the pace in the bottom of the sixth, with three consecutive men reached before recording the first out.

The four-run sixth would be too much for the Jockeys to overcome, the Bombers 5-1 would be the final score.

Gavin Morris got the start for the Bombers, allowing one earned run off of two hits, striking out four and walking one.

Grant Stratton earned the win on the night in a scoreless and hitless sixth inning, fanning one batter. Tavien Tigg, Ben Aird, and Corey Anderson also contributed one scoreless inning apiece.
