How to Press Flowers

Be sure to allow the flowers to dry up until there is no moisture left. Arrange the flowers between two sheets of wax paper. Make sure that no edges of flower petals overlap each other and will not overlap while they are being pressed.

Choose a large hardcover book. Place the flowers in the wax paper between the pages of the book – toward the back of the book is best. Weigh down the book by putting several other books on top of it. Allow to sit for about two weeks for the flower to be completely pressed.

You can also put the flower in the wax paper on a hard flat surface and simply set the books on top of it rather than putting the flowers in the book. Either way, allow for about two weeks for the flower to be pressed.
