Evansville Goodwill industries has partnered up with the Jasper Carson’s yet again for the annual Goodwill-Carson’s Sale.
Evansville Goodwill’s mission is to help disabled or disadvantaged individuals find employment in the community. They also provide transitional housing for homeless families. There are 14 Goodwill retail stores in the Evansville Goodwill’s coverage area.
The Goodwill – Carson’s partnership has been in effect since the early 2000’s. The goal is to increase donations to Goodwill stores and also to help those donating by giving them an incentive to donate.
Goodwill is looking for donations of items such as gently used clothing, textiles, household items, and more. You can take items that you’d like to donate to the Carson’s located in Jasper between September 19 through October 5. There will be a Goodwill truck outside the Carson’s to serve as a reminder to take your donations there.
Those who donate items to Goodwill will receive a 25% off coupon to use at Carson’s. You will receive one coupon per donation and each coupon is good for 25% off one item in Carson’s. The coupons are good during the entire sale from September 19 through October 5.
For those who forget to bring in an item, if you make a $5 donation to Goodwill at the Carson’s Store, you will be able to receive a coupon as well. Donation items can also be dropped off at the Goodwill location in Jasper in order to get coupons.
The Goodwill – Carson’s partnership sale occurs in multiple locations across the country. In 2012, 8.6 million pounds were donated, with over 13 million items being donated in clothing and textiles. These donations earned an estimated $34 million revenue that helped to support job training and career services for people with disabilities and advantages.
