A common wage determination hearing was held at 10 am this (Thursday) morning in the County Courthouse Annex building on the Schnellville Road Bridge Replacement Project.
Union Representative Kenny Overton from Evansville headed up the meeting.
Representing citizens of Dubois County were Mike Witte and Jerry Apple.
Overton presented the classifications of jobs for the project. They included carpenter, ironworker, laborer, and operating engineers for heavy equipment and teamsters for driving trucks to and from the work site.
After Overton presented the common wages, he made a motion to accept those wages and the motion was passed by all three on a voice vote.
The wages will now be placed into the bid packages for the project. Dubois County Engineer Jason Heile was in attendance at the hearing and said that the amount of the project will be around $500,000.00.
Heile says that bids will be open on April 15th for the project. He says that the project will start this fall and should be completed by spring of 2014.
The bridge replacement is on Schnellville Road near 400 East, just east of U.B. Klem Furniture.
