Holland Town President Tom Thacker reported in an interview with WITZ News this morning that they are getting a loan to help pay for a sewer repair project in the town.
The town needs the loan along with a Community Development Block Grant to pay for the wastewater project. He the loan would be sourced from German American.
The town opened bids on the project at the end of March that ranged from just over $425,000 to $642,000 from six companies from Indiana and Kentucky.
Thacker says they will borrow $67,000 for the project that will upgrade the sewer mains and repair a lift station on Kentucky Street.
He said that they are working with the property owner where the newer, larger lift station will be located to purchase that land.
Thacker says that they are moving as quickly as possible to get the paperwork filed by the end of the month so that the project can move forward.
