Strassenfest Queen Contestants Announced

There are seven young ladies competing for the title of Miss Strassenfest who will reign over the Strassenfest July 31 through August 3:

Mallory Alles is the 20 year old daughter of Mary and Jerry Alles. She is a junior at Indiana University majoring in social work. She volunteered at the Jasper Parks and Recreation Arts and Crafts for her community service project.

Karlie Eckert is the 18-year-old daughter of Melissa and Paul Eckert. She is a 2014 Jasper High School graduate and will attend IUPUI this fall majoring in Pre-Dental Biology. She volunteered at Memorial Hospital for her community service project.

Kaitlyn Leistner is the 17-year-old daughter of Gail Leistner and Donald Brown. She is a senior at Jasper High School and plans to major in nursing after graduation. She volunteered at the Jasper Park and Recreation for her community service project.

Katie Letterman is the 20 year old daughter of Linda and Michael Letterman. She is a junior at Indiana University and majoring in secondary English education. She volunteered at the Crisis Connection as her community service project.

Annie Stenftenagel is the 18-year-old daughter of Donna and Robert Stenftenagel. She will be attending University of Evansville this fall as a freshman majoring in Neuroscience. She volunteered at the Jasper Arts Center for her community service project.

Mariah Thewes is the 17 year old daughter of A’lynn and Terry Thewes. She will be a senior at Jasper High School. After graduation she plans to pursue Pre-law. She volunteered at Dance Central Academy for her community service project.

Hannah Whalen is the 20 year old daughter of Shelley and Steve Whalen. She is a junior at Western Kentucky University where she is majoring in Visual Arts. She volunteered at the Jasper Public Library for her community service project.

The Jasper Miss Strassenfest scholarship pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 26, in conjunction with the Junior Miss Strassenfest contest at the Jasper Middle School Auditorium.

Tickets may still be purchased for $5 each at the Jasper Chamber of Commerce.

Scholarships will be awarded to Miss Strassenfest and first runner-up in the amounts of $1,000 and $500, respectively. A second runner-up, Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic will also be awarded.
