Twenty-five thousand one hundred sixty eight dollars – that’s the amount of money Stens Corporation got from the Energizing Indiana Program through the Indiana Municipal Power Agency this morning.
The check was handed to Stens Corporation President Peter Ariens and came as the result of their efforts in reducing energy consumption at their Cathy Lane location.
The awarding of the check was held in the Jasper City Council chambers and Mayor Terry Seitz was on-hand along with Jasper Utility General Manager Bud Hauersperger, and Stens Vice President of Operations Kevin Mair.
Mair says that Stens installed T-5 lighting in their Cathy Lane facility and in their new facility on Hospitality Drive, too that takes power consumption from 460 watts down to 230 watts.
Dan Worl, Manager of Energy Efficiency with Indiana Municipal Power Agency says that more rebate money is coming for Stens, since they are outfitting their new offices with energy efficient lighting, too.
Worl says that the Energizing Indiana Program isn’t just for businesses. They offer it to residences as well:
