School Related Arrests on Drug Charges Since Last Friday

19 year old Mitchell May and 18 year old Brady Freson both of Jasper were arrested at the Jasper Middle School Sunday at 1:19 am after a staff member at the school found marijuana during post-prom activities.

An investigation by Officers with Jasper Police Department found that the two subjects and a juvenile were in possession of the drug.

May and Freson were arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.


State Police Sergeant Todd Ringle reports that on Friday, a female student, 18 year old Kirbi McCandless of Velpen, was found to have been smoking bath salts and marijuana along with taking pills from a container in her purse at Pike Central High School.

A search of her purse revealed a container with several pills, tin foil and other drug paraphernalia. Two of the pills were later identified as Oxycodone.

McCandless was arrested and taken to the Pike County Jail. She was later released after posting bond.
