A survey of Street and Road Departments in Dubois County show that salt supplies are holding steady for now, but with several weeks of winter still left and the possibility of more snow, street and road managers are starting to think about conservation.
Jasper Assistant Street Commissioner Jeff Theising says that even though his salt barn is full, they’ve received the last that they will get, so he’s thinking about conserving:
Huntingburg Street Department Manager Jason Stamm said that they are ok for now:
We asked Dubois County Highway Superintendent Steve Berg how his supply is faring:
Berg says to look for more brine to be down on the roads as they have a good supply of that on hand.
Finally, Ferdinand Town Manager Chris James reports that they have 50 to 55 tons of salt supply on hand to get them through the rest of the winter months.
