Memorial Day Veterans Observances

The annual observance of Memorial Day by the Dubois County Veterans Council will take place Saturday at 10 am on the west side of the Dubois County Courthouse in Jasper at the Veteran’s Memorial.

All Veterans Organizations will be present and all Veterans who passed away this past year will be remembered.

This year’s deceased Veteran that will be recognized is Linus Vonderheide of St. Anthony.

Allen Bromm, President of Dubois County Veterans Council will be master of ceremonies.  Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz will attend and the guest speaker will be Dean Dorrell, known for his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln.

Ferdinand American Legion Post 124, Ferdinand VFW, Legion Auxiliary and Sons of Legion: 7 am Sunday at the Ferdinand Legion; Services at the flag pole at the Ferdinand Spiritual Life Center at 9:30 am.

The Holland American Legion will hold Memorial Services at area cemeteries on Sunday.

  • 1:00 pm at Selvin
  • 1:30 pm at Holland and St. James
  • 2:00 pm at Zoar
  • 2:30 pm at Stendal
  • 3:00 pm at St. Paul

St. Anthony American Legion memorial services at cemeteries on Sunday:
