Julie Krizen, a spokeswoman with the Evansville-Wabash Valley chapter of the organization said “we have volunteers on standby if needed.” She is referring to the possibility of getting calls for assistance to help with relief efforts in the aftermath of Monday’s deadly tornadoes that hit Oklahoma
Dubois County Red Cross representative Jason Bradshaw said that there’s a big fund raiser going on today (Wednesday) based out of the Evansville Office. He cautioned those who want to go to Oklahoma that there are no calls for workers yet, and that the best way to help right now is through a monetary donation.
You can give in a variety of ways. Donations can be made to the Evansville Office during the fundraiser today by calling 812-471-7200 or online by visiting redcross.org or by calling 1-800-REDCROSS. Cell phone users can also text “REDCROSS” to 90999 to give $10, which will be deducted through their phone bill.
