Eckert Arrested in Jasper on Several Criminal Charges
Officers with Jasper Police Department were dispatched to a disturbance call at the Camelot Inn on Mill Street in Jasper Wednesday evening and placed 45 year old Robin Eckert of Velpen under arrest.
Officers found through their investigation that Eckert had forced her way into an apartment and grabbed a three-year-old female child and carried her outside.
The child’s father was able to forcibly retrieve the child and call police.
Eckert was arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for residential entry and a Class D Felony for Criminal Confinement.
She was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
Jasper Police Arrest of Harvey
66 year old David Harvey of Jasper was arrested by Officers with Jasper Police Department on Wednesday and have charged him with 5 counts of a C Felony for Defrauding a Financial Institution and 5 counts of a D Felony for Check Fraud.
The arrested comes after it was discovered that Harvey had knowingly and intentionally cashed 5 checks at Freedom Bank from accounts that had no money in them.
His arrest is connected to the prior arrests of two other men who were charged with the same crimes in May.
The other two, identified as Shawen Smith and David Slaton are waiting court dates on those charges in Dubois and other counties.
Harvey was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center and is being held on bond.
Huntingburg Police Arrest of Welborn
Officers with Huntingburg Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of east Second Street in reference to a domestic disturbance Wednesday night just before midnight.
Officers made contact with 31 year old Crystal Welborn of the address and determined that she was responsible for the battery on her husband.
During the investigation, officers located marijuana and paraphernalia in the residence.
Welborn was charged with Domestic Battery, Possession of Marijuana and Paraphernalia and was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
