Tri-Cap Receives Grant for Low Income Kids’ Dental Program for Kids

COUNTYWIDE — Tri-Cap has received a grant of nearly $9,000 from the Dubois County Community Foundation.

The funds will go toward providing a new children’s dental care initiative for low income kids.

The grant money will help cover the costs of initial dental treatment.

Follow up treatment will be paid for while the funds last.

Dubois Co. District Gets State Money for Clean Water

COUNTYWIDE — The Dubois County area has been awarded thousands of dollars by the state’s Department of Agriculture.

The Clean Water Indiana grants are going to Soil and Water Districts to fund conservation projects.

Our district includes Dubois, Daviess and Martin Counties.

The district will receive over $95,000.

State officials hope the money will improve water quality throughout the state.



Jasper Man Arrested on Drug Charges

JASPER — A Jasper man was arrested on multiple drug charges yesterday.

A concerned citizen called police just after 2:30 yesterday afternoon, reporting a car speeding and swerving.

Police found the car a short time later at Sternberg’s.

Police say they found a controlled substance, a narcotic drug, marijuana, meth and paraphernalia.

38-year-old Michael Burnette is charged with possession of all of those items.

He’s lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.

Jasper Man Charged with Domestic Battery / Strangluation

JASPER —   A Jasper man was arrested yesterday on felony charges stemming from a domestic incident.

Police were called out to the home just before 10:30 last night on a report of a fight.

When officers arrived, they learned 21-year-old Joseph Uppencamp allegedly battered and strangled a woman in the home.

He’s charged with felony domestic battery and strangulation — also a felony.
