Man Arrested For Jasper Hit & Run Crash Monday

JASPER — Jasper Police arrested a man before 5 Monday afternoon at the intersection of 13th and Newton Streets.

Police say Galen Roach of Jasper crashed into another car in the intersection then fled the scene.

A conservation officer located the suspect’s vehicle a short time later on Park Street in Jasper, but it was empty.

Officers caught up with Roach at his mother’s house on Village Court and arrested.

He’s charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Crash, Possession of Paraphernalia ….

Driving While Suspended and Driving with no Insurance.

Roach also had an active warrant out of Spencer County.


Driver Arrested For Leaving Scene of Crash

JASPER — Jasper Police were called out to a hit and run just before 8:30 last night.

This one in the parking lot of Memorial Hospital.

Police say Nathan Morgan of Washington was backing up and hit the car behind him before fleeing the scene.

Police caught up with Morgan a short time later and arrested him on a charge of Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.


Monday Crash Sends 2 to Hospital

JASPER — Two people were sent to the hospital following a fourth accident Monday.

Police say Kennedy Meier of Newburg wasn’t familiar with the area of South Newton and Third Streets and made a wrong turn.

As she tried to get back on track, Meier went through the stop sign at the intersection, hitting a car driven by Poppy Hands of Taswell.

Meier and her mother, Scarlet Meier were both taken to Memorial Hospital.

The mother complained of chest and back pain.

The driver was treated for head, neck and back pain.

Hands wasn’t hurt.
