Roads Closed Due to High Water From Sunday Storms

DUBOIS CO. — Yesterday morning’s storms dropped up to 4 inches of rain across parts of the area.

The Dubois County Highway Department reports the following roads are closed due to high water….

* Gates CLOSED on Huntingburg Rd.

* 1st Street CLOSED East of Huntingburg near the stadium.

* 400 S. CLOSED East of U.S. 231 near the railroad tracks.



Skimmer Found on Jasper Gas Pump

JASPER — Jasper Police are warning residents to be cautious after a credit card skimmer was found on a gas pump at the Sunset Citgo station on Third Avenue over the weekend.

It’s a way to steal your credit card information from right under your nose.

Police in Jasper say the device was found on pump number 3 at the Citgo.

If you’ve used that pump recently, check your bank accounts to ensure they haven’t been compromised.

Be sure to report any fraudulent activity on your account to local law enforcement.

Police advise residents should be vigilant when using credit and debit cards.  Look for anything that seems tampered with or that’s out of the ordinary.


Brick Oven Pizza Fire Ruled Arson

HUNTINGBURG — Arson investigators are hoping the public can provide clues into who set a fire at Brick Oven Pizza in Huntingburg Friday.

Initial findings show the fire was intentionally set.

Investigators are asking anyone with information into the case to call the Indiana Arson Hotline at 1(800) 382 – 4628.

You don’t have to give your name, but a $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to a conviction in this case.

The restaurant remains closed as damages are repaired.  No word on when it will re – open.



Huntingburg Spuds N Stuff Abruptly Closes Doors

HUNTINGBURG — The Spuds N Stuff restaurant in Huntingburg has closed its doors.

In a post to social media, the restaurant said it appreciates everyone’s business over the last three and a half years.

The post also says their food trailer will still be at different events across the area.

The restaurant officially closed its doors for good Friday afternoon.

No word on what forced the restaurant to close.


TRAFFIC ALERT:  SR 161 Closed Until Mid-September 

HOLLAND — State Road 161, south of Holland is closed for a pavement overlay project.

The closure began today and runs from the EAST junction of State Road 68 to about three miles NORTH of I-64.

The road will be completely closed around the clock during the work.

Local motorists will still have access to their homes and businesses.

The work is expected to go through mid September.
