Mid-State Corridor Would Be a Big Win for Dubois County, Rep. Braun Gives us an Update

DUBOIS CO. — The future of the Mid-State Corridor, which would connect US 231 with I 69 near Dale, is one step closer to becoming reality.

State Lawmakers in Indianapolis passed the road funding bill in the past legislative session.  Now, State Rep. Mike Braun (R – Jasper) is saying there is nothing standing in the way of the project now.

Mr. Braun also assured us that he will stay on top of the project, not allowing it to fall through the cracks of bureaucracy.

JASPER — State Representative Mike Braun of Jasper has confirmed to WITZ Radio News, he is gauging support, ahead of a possible announcement that he’ll run for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Democrat Joe Donnelly.  He’s kept that seat since 2013.

911 Call About Suspicious Man Lands 1 in Jail

HUNTINGBURG — A call to police about a suspicious man, over the weekend, led to a possession arrest.

Police were called to the Village Court Apartments around 8 Saturday morning.

Officers say they made contact with Brian Boyer and noticed something was wrong.  The man was twitching severely and appeared to be under the influence.

Police found a hypodermic syringe with trace amounts of Methamphetamine inside, according to arrest reports.

Boyer was arrested and charged with felony possession for the syringe, along with misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.


Police Asking for Public’s Help in Hit & Run Investigation

HUNTINGBURG — Huntingburg Police are asking for the public’s help finding a driver involved in a hit and run Sunday.

In a post to social media, police say the driver of a vehicle left the scene of a crash around 3:30 AM Sunday in the 200 Block of Geiger Street.

Witnesses heard the crash but didn’t get a good look at the vehicle.

The only lead police have at this point is teal green paint found on the car that was hit;  transferred from the suspect’s car during the crash.

Police are looking for a teal green vehicle with heavy damage.
