Police:  Drive Sober This July 4th

STATEWIDE — The Fourth of July is tomorrow and Indiana State Police remind you to DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER.

Police have been out in full force since the weekend and you can expect those saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints to continue through tomorrow.

Police remind you to have a designated driver and, keep in mind, buzzed driving is drunk driving.


Huntingburg to Hold Fireworks Tonight, Otwell Tuesday

HUNTINGBURG — Huntingburg is preparing for its Independence Day celebrations.

Fireworks will go off TONIGHT at dark following the Bombers game at League Stadium.

Those in attendance for the game will be invited to sit in the outfield with the players to watch the fireworks.

Our neighbors in Otwell continue their four day celebration today.

Those events wrap up tomorrow with the fireworks at dark.


Chrisney Man Faces Felony in Huntingburg 

HUNTINGBURG — A Chrisney man has been arrested — facing felony charges for Obstruction of Justice in Huntingburg.

Police say a it all began with a suspicious vehicle Saturday morning.

When officer made contact with 25-year-old Cody Kendall, they say he was drunk and they smelled burnt marijuana, according to arrest reports.

Police had to get a search warrant to get a chemical test but Kendall STILL refused.

He’s charged with that felony count of obstruction of justice along with driving while intoxicated.


Body of Missing Knox County Teen Found in Lake

KNOX COUNTY — Conservation officers have found the body of a 15-year-old Knox County boy who went missing under the water Friday while swimming in a small lake.

Officers had to use under – water cameras to locate the boy.

Reports show another teen heard the boy’s cries for help but was unable to reach him in time.

His victim’s name has not been released.
