It won’t be long before the call goes out to all parents with children ready to enter Kindergarten in Jasper to come in and get their child registered and ready for the first day of school for them this August.
Every February, the Greater Jasper Schools holds Kindergarten Round Up, which is a one-day event at both Fifth Street and Ireland Elementary Schools.
Julie Oates and Kathy Wagner talk about what’s expected and when to come.
Wagner says that the children actually look forward to it:
Oates says that parents can help by setting expectation levels on what’s going to take place:
The Kindergarten Round Up will be held on Tuesday, February 25th at both Fifth Street and Ireland Elementary Schools in Jasper.
The times are from 8:30 am to Noon and again from 4:00 to 6:30 pm.
Parents need to bring their child’s birth certificate, immunization records and social security number. The birth certificate and immunization records can be obtained at the Dubois County Heath Department and social security numbers can be obtained at any Federal Office in Evansville or Indianapolis. Or by using the Internet at http://www.ssa.gov.
