Dubois County has the lowest unemployment rate in the state of Indiana at 4.2 percent.
But, several jobs are available and are going unfilled. That according to local officials, including Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz.

In January, the Town of Ferdinand learned that Masterbrand Cabinets wants to expand their Ferdinand operations that would mean 135 new jobs. The Town is currently in talks with Masterbrand to provide a tax abatement schedule.
Last week, Mobel Incorporated in Ferdinand Announced it was closing its operations after 42 years in business. Jobs to be lost: about 60.
Meanwhile, Ohio Valley Resources announced that they are ready to break ground on the new nitrogen fertilizer plant in Spencer County. Job impact: about 1,200 construction jobs; just less than 100 permanent.
