Loogootee Woman Dead in Crash, Daughter Arrested
LOOGOOTEE – Police continue to investigate a crash that occurred Thursday night that killed a Loogootee woman.
The driver, Heather Christmas of Loogootee was driving northbound on CR 1200 E. just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday, when she lost control; ending up in West Boggs Lake, according to police.
Police pulled two women out of the vehicle. Joyce Christmas, the mother of the driver, was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The daughter was taken to an area hospital and released where she was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
Holland Man Leads Police on Chase; + 100 MPH
HOLLAND – A high speed chase involving a motorcycle near Holland this week landed a local man in jail.
A Indiana State trooper was on routine patrol on SR 64 just west of Holland Thursday when he saw the speeding driver, according to police reports.
As the trooper attempted to pull the bike over, the driver took off and a chase ensued; hitting speeds over 100 mph.
The case came to an end in a parking lot off of CR 400 W. where the driver tried hiding from police.
Daniel Aserud, 43 of Holland was quickly found and placed under arrested without further incident.
He had an outstanding warrant from Pike County for failure to pay child support.
He’s charged with a felony count of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and misdemeanor counts of driving while suspended with a prior conviction and reckless driving.
Two Warrick County Men Arrested for Sexual Misconduct With a Minor.
NEWBURGH – Justin Jarvis, 43 and Robert Owen, 38, both of Newburgh, have been arrested after a months-long investigation in to child molesting.
Investigators say both men had a sexual relationship with a child. Some of the encounters were captured on video, according to police.
During a search of the home, police seized digital evidence and narcotics.
Both men are charged with two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, three counts of child exploitation, possession of child pornography, possession of methamphetamines along with some other charges.
