Ferdinand Fire Chief Dan Lindauer told WITZ News that he and the State Fire Marshall have determined that the fire in the residential trailer on Wednesday at 11:32 am in the 600 block of west Ninth Street was deliberately set.
Firefighters with FFD were called out on the report of smoke in a residential trailer and Lindauer tells what happened when he arrived:
Lindauer said that the residents found the smoke coming from the trailer as they opened the door after arriving back home.
Fortunately there were no injuries from the fire, but the family, Pam and Michael Hobbs have been displaced as a result of the fire. Their clothes are smoke affected but not a total loss.
The State Fire Marshall’s office is listing the official cause as arson and charges will be pursued if it can be determined who set the fire.
Three trucks with 15 firefighters were on the scene for about 90 minutes.
