Spokeswoman Cher Elliott with the Vincennes District of INDOT says beginning next week, construction on the new traffic light at the Bretzville Junction in Dubois County will begin:
Elliott says that left turn lanes will be added to the north and southbound lanes of traffic on SR 162.
Lutgring Brothers, Inc. of Tell City was the low bidder on the $1 million contract.
Elliott also says that the repaving project on U.S. 231 will begin the Tuesday after Memorial Day for Huntingburg and Jasper:
The US 231 repaving project will include milling and paving from the south side of Huntingburg up through Jasper to around the State Police Post.
Elliott also reports that work to repair I-69 that has sunk on the approach to the Patoka River Bridge will begin very soon, too:
INDOT has fielded a lot of calls for a new traffic light at the intersection of SR 66 and Orchard Road in front of South Spencer High School where a student was killed as he pulled out onto SR 66 and his vehicle was struck by a semi. Elliott says INDOT is still working on this:
Elliott reports that in addition to local projects, work is continuing on Section 4 of I-69 between Crane and SR 37 on the south side of Bloomington. That project is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.
