Two Lawrence County residents were injured in a car-buggy collision Tuesday evening in rural Orange County.
Orange County authorities report a 9-1-1 call came in just after 9pm reporting an accident involving an Amish buggy on CR Road 200 West near Mt. Horeb Road. The sheriff’s investigation reports 19 year old Logan Farler of Campbellsburg was traveling north on CR Road 200 West at a high rate of speed when he came upon an Amish buggy piloted by 19 year old Johnny Miller of Mitchell. Farler was not able to slow in time to avoid a collision.
Miller and his passenger, 18 year old Anna Miller of Mitchell, both received unspecified serious injuries and were transported to Indiana Health Bedford Hospital for treatment. Farler was not injured in the 9:07pm crash. He is in the Orange County jail on a Class “C” misdemeanor charge of OWI- Controlled substance. Additional charges are pending as the investigation is on-going.
Indiana State Police and Orange County Fire Department EMT’s assisted at the scene.
