The Dubois County area has local representation in Jasper from 8 th District Congressman Larry Bucshon of Newburgh.
Bucshon, a Republican has opened an office to better represent and stay in contact with local constituents.
He was in Jasper on Friday at 2:30 pm in front of Jasper City Hall to announce the opening of his satellite office on the second floor of the building.
Bucshon was introduced to the crowd of between 20 and 30 by Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz. Afterwards we asked Bucshon how important it is to have an office near his constituents:
Bucshon told the crowd that he is maintaining office hours in Rockport and Tell City as well.
Meanwhile, Bucshon isn’t the only representative from Washington for Indiana that will be making a stop in Jasper.
Senator Joe Donnelly will be the featured speaker at the Democrats Truman Dinner coming up later this month. We spoke with Democrat Chairman Gary Eck last week about the event:
Donnelly defeated Richard Mourdock in the November election to pick up the seat for the Democrats in Indiana.
