A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale started it’s season off this past Friday, June 7th. I went to see the show on Saturday evening. This was my first A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale viewing…and also my first Lincoln Amphitheatre experience.
The show was fantastic! If you haven’t seen it or heard of it yet…then here’s a brief description: It’s about Abraham Lincoln and the years of his life he spent in Indiana. The show flashes back and forth from scenes of Abe’s childhood and a time during his presidency where he tells his sons about his life. I think that’s a very nice touch because you get to see him during his early years, but also as the presidential icon that all are familiar with. The story was at times humorous, inspiring, and heartbreaking.
The actors did such a wonderful job throughout the entire play. You can tell that they know their stuff and had fun during A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale. And that makes it more fun for the members of the audience…in this case…me! I learned a lot about Abraham Lincoln as well. So not only is it fun but it’s educational as well.
I honestly had a blast seeing A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale. I was enthralled the entire time and couldn’t take my eyes away from the stage!
I’d suggest going to see it if you get a chance. A Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale is running now through June 29th in the evenings – Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. CT (8:30 p.m. ET). There will be a couple of matinee performances as well; those will be Sunday, June 16 and Wednesday, June 26. You can find more information about A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale by going to the Lincoln Amphitheatre website.
I can’t wait to see the future plays at Lincoln Amphitheatre!
