No injuries were reported in a two vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Jasper.
According to Jasper City police, 59 year old Leslie Trammell of New Haven KY and 17 year old Kassie Traylor of Winslow were both driving southbound on Hwy 231 approaching the 7th Street intersection. Witnesses say Trammell’s 2000 International semi was in the east inside lane, while Traylor was in the west outside lane of traffic.
Trammell then began to shift lanes of traffic, apparently without seeing the Traylor auto in the next lane. As Trammell began to move over, Traylor tried to avoid contact by moving toward the curb. Eventually, Traylor ran out of room and was forced up onto the sidewalk before hitting a road sign and coming to a stop.
More than sixty-five hundred dollars damage was reported in the 5:34pm accident. Leslie Trammell was charged with unsafe lane movement by Jasper City police.
