The Dubois County Humane Society is doing a really cool thing right now. If you adopt a cat or kitten by June 30th, you’ll get to decide your own adoption fee. They’re doing this because there are so many cats and kittens that need homes! I’m an animal lover so I figured I’d jump on this information and share it with fellow animal lovers!
This is a really good time to adopt a feline if it’s something you’ve considered doing because the cost is down and there are a lot of cats to choose from! There are some rules to choosing your own adoption fee though. As I said…you can only choose your price through June 30th. After that…it’s back to regular adoption fees. Also, the adoption fee must exceed $20. But as long as it exceeds that much, you can choose your own adoption fee when you’re adopting a cat or kitten!
And of course there are still standards for adopting cats from the Humane Society. Anyone that adopts any animal still has to complete an application, meet with an adoption counselor, and receive positive vet references. It’s a lot of work but definitely worth it to take home your own little loving friend.
I think that this is a really good way to help animals find loving homes with people who are going to take care of them. And its great for you because you can find a loving companion and you get to choose your own price!
If you want to know a little bit more about this program, you can call the Humane Society at 812-482-7387. Their adoption hours are Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
